Looking for a good and rather inexpensive ERP system for inventory management and other interesting abilities. We are curious as to what other people are using, or if anyone has any thoughts! Help is much appreciated.

Tessa, rather inexpensive is what to you? A budget is a great place to start as well as a list of core features your business needs to operate. Do you have online sales that the ERP app will need to work with?

No we do not need it to work with online sales, so that may make things a little easier. We are a very young company so trying to set a budget is difficult for us because good ERP software can be very expensive depending on what you want to do with it. We would like to have software that can grow with us, but should the costs be too great we may have to consider purchasing again. Thank you for your reply and we are still on the hunt :)

Tessa, you can look into SAP Business One, Oracle for Small Business, Sage Software, Microsoft Great Plains and Netsuite are a few that may at least be able to give you some general help and cost concerns to think about. A technology choice is a very serious investment and can break a company if not implemented correctly, not trained correctly, or used correctly. Good luck and hope this helped
Tessa - personally, I have never purchased ERP software, so I can not offer a specific suggestion. You can find a few resources at the ERP Software directory on Apparel Search. Hopefully someone else from the network will respond to you with more specific suggestions.
Thank you very much!
I have checked out the site, and they have great information it is just difficult get to the root of how it works and real critiques when talking to sales reps and reading websites! I think the next step my be to just pick a few and demo them, that way we know for ourselves.

Glad you liked that site, it is mine... (I create the Apparel Search site). Anyway, regarding the ERP software, I agree with you that the best method is to test product. You can speak to the sales people to get an education on the features, but you should definately test a few prior to investing in the software. After you determine the best option for your company, please post the version you selected and why you selected it as your top choice. Maybe that will help others in the future.
