Getting started.

Hi everyone!
I recently joined this site and I'm hoping to get some advice. I have always had a great interest in fashion and dreamed in working in fashion. I want to get a degree in fashion merchandising and am planning to apply to the art institutes in Miami for this fall, but I would like some advice/guidance on what schools are good or just any general advice on how to get started.

merchandising is two parts:

trust your instinct.

know the market.

in nyc : parsons school of design & FIT.

learn and read as much as you can .. there is a book called FASHION FOR PROFIT if you are looking to be a designer ... all the best and The institute is a great school... it is what you do with the knowledge that you obtain
