Fashion Industry Network

The Fashion Industries Favorite Business Network ...

In all honesty, I am not 100% certain that a social network is beneficial to the fashion industry. I think that in theory it makes sense. However, is it really practical?

Do middle age fashion industry professionals grasp the idea of social networking? We have been pounded with the idea that this is for kids or people looking for a date. Does anyone really understand the potential in regards to developing business contacts?

In my opinion, business professionals may be hesitant to utilize this type of system. However, many of those people that have used social networking over the past several years (in high school or college), are now old enough to enter the work force. Hopefully, many of them will enter the fashion industry and carry with them the experience of networking. I guess it is possible that they move from using a network to find parties, and start using a professional network like this one to find fabric and trim suppliers.

Anyway, my point is that I am not sure if anyone actually has interest in a fashion industry network. My hopes are that we can all work together to create an interesting social enviroment to make our business lives a bit easier.

Again, I am not sure if this social network for the fashion industry will be a good idea, but I guess we are going to find out...

If you have any thoughts on the subject, please make your opinion known. We look forward to hearing from you.

I think social networking create big success in fashion selling industry. In other areas, I have seen social networking that involves hug amount for registering, normally these kind never make it to many. But also have seen this networking selling who have limited purchasing rules but only have ones identity for the assurance of ones company. Usually they work quiet well.

But all in all , I think social networking works well if you know what you target as your costumers are and also to identify what age of sellers you will need in you field.
Dear, yes...it is!
It is as beneficial to fashion industry as is for any other field. The social networking has done wonders and the designers are coming with a plethora of designs only because they use to discuss a lot on current fashion trends with their friends.

LOL! Please define middle-aged. I'm nearly 40 and I'm somewhat conservative in my view about the effectiveness depending on your role within the industry.

Generally speaking, dyed-in-the-rough garmentos are too busy and tired to tinker around with hanging out online when they have real-world connections they need to continue to maintain and prime during their off hours.

I do agree the face of work - in general - is changing. But, I don't think adoption of virtual social networking is the problem. I think we normalize to our customers and relationships.
Fashion Depends upon the life style of the Society. It's a person nature to copy the style of other person. We can say that society doesnot enhances the Fashion, but the People in the Society adopt the Fashion.

Great topic! Please see my responses throughout.
Since the internet has revolutionised the way we work and connect. Some may argue has the internet actually made our lives better or worse?
There are many ways to make contacts whether personal or proffessional. It just depends on the individuals characteristics of they actually need and require. You could say its a no win situation.
I agree with your final comment that we all should work together and make this an interesting social environment that will connect business and professionals to make our talents and expertise more resourceful with others in the same arena.

The question i would like to be answered is - has the internet made us lazy in our every day to day life and lifestyles?
i will say the internet has sort of made us lazy cuause some ppl realy on buying stuff from the internet than trying it on in shops and buying it there and then if they like it !!
well i must say i do agree wit some things you said. like about this social network and using it for more than a network, i agree because like you said about not grasping the idea of social network and its true purposes. also for me im just a kid and i would like to get advise and help as i develop myself and ideas in the fashion industry because i am very interested to know and learn as much as possible. and as of your theory about not a good idea i think its a good idea for youngsters like me just getting into the industry and knowing what is out there more than we think.
I guess the fashion industry can make use of social networking because through which you can get feedbacks and comments from your customers how to improve your products and services. Also you can give quick responses to customers' inquiry regarding your products and services. Social networking sites are potential vehicle where you can promote your products and service especially when you are into online business.
