Anthony Lilore has worked in the apparel and manufacturing industry for over 20 years - from the technical design director at Perry Ellis to the founnder of RESTORE(TM), a New York based think-tank that has repeatedly pushed the boundaries of what innovative, responsible and sustainable is in the design world.
In this presentation, Anthony helps take designers of the costs and benefits of producing locally, what designers need to know about the production process, what manufacturers expect from designers and what designers should expect from manufacturers. Talk is structured around the NYC Garment District, but principles can be applied to other local garment districts around the world.
